Kazakhstan - Cyprus Betting Tips, Kazakhstan - Cyprus Match Preview, Kazakhstan - Cyprus Predictions

With eight points separating Kazakhstan and Cyprus from second place in European Championship qualifying (ECQ) Group I, the hosts will be desperate for a first-ever H2H win (D1, L2) to keep their qualification hopes alive. That H2H record includes a recent 1-1 away draw, which remains the only game that both teams have scored in Kazakhstan’s six ECQ fixtures campaign.
In fact only three of Kazakhstan’s last 13 ECQs have seen both teams score, although notably nine matches during this run saw over 2.5 total goals. That’s also been the case in four of Kazakhstan’s six ECQ games this campaign, with each of those matches witnessing one side score at least three times.
Five of their six ECQ fixtures have also seen the half-time result replicated at the final whistle. The opening goal appears to hold the key then, especially as the side that has scored first is yet to lose in any of those six games. This also holds true for each of Cyprus’ six ECQ fixtures this campaign.
The visitors travel here after a 4-0 away win in their last qualifier, but have never won back-to-back ECQs since October 2007. Like that result, eight of their last nine ECQ road trips have seen over 2.5 total goals. Nearly half of the games during this run (four) ended with a 2-1 scoreline.
Players to watch: Both the international goals that Aleksey Shchotkin has scored gave Kazakhstan a 1-0 lead. Meanwhile, three of Ioannis Kousoulos’ four previous ECQ goals gave or extended Cyprus’ lead.
Stat attack: Kazakhstan have never won consecutive ECQ home matches.
Kazakhstan have conceded at least two goals in nine of their last 15 ECQ home fixtures.
Of the 17 total goals Cyprus fixtures have seen this ECQ campaign, 11 were netted during the first half.
